Is it legal in Belgium?
Yes. Dashcams are legal in Belgium and their recordings can be used as evidence after an accident. However, you may not film and share identifiable people without their consent: use must remain private, as evidence.
How it works
The dashcam records in a loop on an SD card. When the card is full, it overwrites the oldest files. If an impact is detected, the corresponding file is automatically locked so it can't be erased.
We recommend a 64 to 128 GB Class 10 (U3) card designed for continuous writing. A low-end card gives up within a few months.
Clean installation or cigarette lighter?
You can plug a dashcam into the cigarette lighter yourself, with a cable running across the cabin. We do it differently: power taken from the fuse box, cable routed behind the headliner and pillar trims, camera placed behind the rear-view mirror.
The result: nothing visible, nothing blocking your view, and the option to enable parking surveillance.
