General terms and conditions of sale
Last updated: 20 September 2026
1. Purpose and scope
These general terms and conditions of sale (hereinafter the “T&Cs”) govern every order placed with CarPlay Auto, whether through the website, by phone, by WhatsApp or at the workshop.
They cover four distinct situations, with different rules:
- Buying products online, delivered to the address given by the customer;
- Buying products with installation at our workshop;
- Booking an installation service on its own;
- Buying on site at the workshop, with or without immediate installation.
Important: the 14-day right of withdrawal applies to distance sales (situations 1, 2 and 3). It does not apply to a purchase made on site at the workshop (situation 4), which is not a distance sale.
Placing an order implies unreserved acceptance of these T&Cs. The customer declares that they have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.
2. Consumers and businesses
Our terms are mainly intended for consumers, i.e. natural persons acting for purposes outside their trade, business or profession.
When the customer acts in the course of their business (B2B), the protective provisions reserved for consumers — right of withdrawal, legal guarantee of conformity for consumer goods — do not automatically apply. Items sold to a business are covered by the warranty against hidden defects under ordinary law.
3. Products and services
We sell automotive electronic equipment and offer its installation at our workshop. The photographs and descriptions on the website are as accurate as possible, but secondary characteristics (exact shade, firmware revision, packaging presentation) cannot engage our liability.
Vehicle compatibility. A product's compatibility depends on the vehicle's make, model, year, trim level and original equipment. The customer undertakes to provide accurate and complete information: make, model, year of first registration and, when we ask for it, a photograph of the vehicle interior and the original head unit. An incompatibility resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer cannot be attributed to us.
4. Order and confirmation
The online ordering process includes a summary step allowing the customer to check the details of their order and correct any errors before confirming it. Confirming the order, preceded by acceptance of these T&Cs, forms the contract.
A confirmation email summarising the order is sent without delay. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order for a legitimate reason — prolonged unavailability, obvious pricing error, unresolved previous dispute, abnormal order — in which case the customer is informed and refunded in full.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in euros, including all taxes (Belgian VAT included), excluding delivery charges. The applicable delivery charges are displayed before the order is finally confirmed.
The applicable price is the one in force when the order is confirmed. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time for future orders.
The accepted payment methods are: Shop Pay, Bancontact, bank cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, UnionPay), Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payment is processed by Shopify Payments and its partner providers; we never have access to your full card details.
Refunds are made using the same payment method as the one used for the order, unless you expressly agree otherwise.
Deposit. Some services may require a deposit when booking. The amount and conditions are specified at the time of booking.
6. Availability, delivery and collection
Our offers are valid while stocks last. If a product turns out to be unavailable after the order, the customer is informed as soon as possible and can choose between waiting for restocking or a full refund.
Delivery terms and times are detailed on our Delivery & returns page.
In accordance with Belgian law, delivery takes place no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded, unless otherwise agreed. In the event of a delay, the customer may require us to perform within a reasonable additional period; failing that, they may terminate the contract and obtain a refund of all sums paid.
The risk of loss of or damage to the goods passes to the customer when they take physical possession of the goods.
Collection at the workshop: collecting orders at the workshop is not currently offered.
7. Workshop installation
All our installations are carried out at our Brussels workshop, by appointment only. We do not carry out work at customers' homes.
The detailed conditions — booking, lateness, no-shows, cancellation, vehicle downtime, prior diagnosis, additional parts — are set out on our Appointment and installation terms page, which forms an integral part of these T&Cs.
Additional costs. If the diagnosis reveals the need for parts or work not initially planned, no extra cost is incurred without your express prior consent. You remain free to refuse and to cancel the work.
8. Right of withdrawal
Consumer customers have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract, without having to give a reason. The procedure, exceptions and model form are set out on our Right of withdrawal page.
Please note: when the customer expressly requests that the installation service begin before this period expires, and acknowledges losing their right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, this right ends when the installation is fully completed.
9. Legal warranty and after-sales service
All our products are covered by the two-year legal guarantee of conformity provided for by Belgian law. This guarantee applies automatically and can be neither reduced nor replaced by a commercial warranty.
The details — how to use it, exclusions, the difference between the legal guarantee and a commercial warranty — are set out on our Warranty & after-sales page.
10. Liability
Our liability is engaged under the conditions of ordinary law. We do not limit or exclude our liability in the event of fraud, gross negligence, personal injury, or where the law prohibits it.
We are not liable for:
- the consequences of inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the customer about their vehicle;
- pre-existing faults or malfunctions of the vehicle, whether or not reported before the work;
- changes made by Apple, Google or manufacturers to their systems that may affect how CarPlay or Android Auto works;
- technical limitations specific to certain vehicles, where these were pointed out to the customer before the work;
- personal belongings left in the vehicle.
11. Force majeure
Neither party can be held liable for failing to perform its obligations where this results from a force majeure event: natural disaster, fire, armed conflict, epidemic, decision by the authorities, supply disruption beyond our control. Performance is suspended for the duration of the event; if it lasts more than 60 days, either party may terminate the contract without compensation.
12. Complaints and mediation
Any complaint can be sent to us by email at contact@carplayauto.be or by post to our workshop address. We undertake to acknowledge receipt and to handle every complaint diligently.
If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can contact the Consumer Mediation Service free of charge:

13. Data protection
The processing of your personal data is described in our privacy policy and our cookie policy.
14. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These T&Cs are governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute with a consumer, the competent courts are those designated by law, the consumer retaining the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence. For business customers, the courts of the judicial district of Brussels have exclusive jurisdiction.
15. Miscellaneous
If any clause is found to be void, this does not affect the validity of the others. We reserve the right to amend these T&Cs; the applicable version is the one in force at the time of the order.
